Benahavis
Benahavis is both the name of a little city in the mountains behind Marbella, and also the name of the whole mountainous countryside area around that city, including La Zagaleta. Here we are talking about the city, or should we say rather village.
It is part of the so-called Golden Triangle, together with Marbella and Estepona and it is well known for the luxury properties and local cuisine. (It has a reputation as “the dining room of Costa del Sol”). But there is more to Benahavis than the local cuisine.
There are tennis and football and a golf course. A Tennis school, fully equipped gyms and swimming pools.
Canyoning is another activity near Benahavis, on Rio Guadalmina. Sports enthusiasts also have the alternative of free climbing.
There are some places in Benahavis where you have breathtaking views overlooking the Marbella area and the Mediterranean Sea. These views deserve by themselves a trip to Benahavis.
Benahavis is known for the urban developments over the last few years and is most sought after for its friendly climate and beautiful landscapes.
Living here or just holidaying, you will enjoy a peaceful countryside atmosphere, with a mix of Spanish local residents, various European expats, and visiting tourists.
